The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Market Rate Control Cell has conducted a surprise checking of all the butchers under DMC jurisdiction, on 12th Nov’2020. During the checking the officials on duty has found that some of the butchers were selling the meat above the DMC prescribed rate.

In this connection, the following butchers were caught and imposed penalty with fine and further necessary action. Hence, all the butchers are once again informed directed to sell the meat at the prescribed rate as fixed by this office.

Press Release – 24th September 2020

NOTIFICATION

 

Whereas, it has been observed that many shopkeepers/traders/business establishment under DMC jurisdiction are in practice of carrying out their business without renewing/obtaining trade license, which is a complete violation of rules under Section 396 of Nagaland Municipal Act 2001.

Hence, all the traders/shopkeepers/ business establishments who have not yet renewed or obtained License are hereby asked to renew/obtain their respective License from this office within 8th Oct 2020 positively.

Failure to comply with this notification will invite penalty with fine and other legal course of action as per provision of law.

Order – 6th July 2020

State Government Order on “Dog meat ban”

In compliance to the State Government Order on “Dog meat ban” and in accordance to the provision of the FSS Act, 2006 and FSS Regulations, 2011, ‘commercial import and trading of dogs and dog markets’ and ‘slaughtering and commercial sale of dog meat in markets and dine-in restaurants’ is hereby banned with immediate effect within the jurisdiction of Dimapur Municipal Council(DMC).
Any person found violating this order shall be liable to be punished under section 428 and 429 of Indian penal Code 1860 and section 11 of the prevention of cruelty to animals Act 1960 and or any such other provision of law as may be applicable.

CIRCULAR- 2nd July 2020

In pursuance to the letter No.MA-21/2020 Dtd.Kohima the 25th June 2020, from the Municipal Affairs Department, Government of Nagaland, it is learnt that there has been instances of transmission of Corona virus through Wet Markets/Slaughter Houses especially those dealing with fresh meat like beef/pork/chicken/fish etc. in other parts of the world.

             Hence, with a view to contain possible transmission and spread of the viruses through such media an advisory is issued to all the concern dealing with the above mentioned traders to operate as per the FSSAI guidelines within the jurisdiction of Dimapur Municipal area.

             There should be proper disposal of waste/fluids and butchers should handle the meat hygienically.

             Failure to comply with these directives shall be penalized as mentioned below:

  1. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand) only, -1st instance.
  2. Suspension of Trade License for 3 (three) months -2nd instance
  3. Cancellation of Trade License -3rd instance

PRESS RELEASE – 2nd July 2020

In view of the advisory issued by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) with regard to weather forecast of heavy rain and strong winds with possibility of flash flood as well as landslides from 1‘ to 12″ of July 2020 and also taking in account the onset of monsoon season. all the residents residing within Dimapur Municipal Council(DMC) jurisdiction are requested not to throw waste/garbage in the drains. Clogged drains being the one of the main reason for water logging and flooding, the colony authorities are directed to ensure total prohibition of disposing garbage in the drainage within their respective colonies. Dimapur Municipal Council(DMC) solicits co-operation and civic responsibilities from the general public for a clean and healthy Dimapur city.
